DJ legend and techno pioneer Richie Hawtin feels the music with Sennheiser - Audio specialist is official sound partner of inspirational American college tour

One of the world’s greatest DJs and a techno pioneer, Richie Hawtin, brings electronic dance music alive for the next generation. Sennheiser is backing Richie Hawtin in the artist’s latest exciting venture – the CNTRL: Beyond EDM tour. Working with fellow visionary Loco Dice, Hawtin is aiming to spark inspiration in tomorrow’s producers and DJs by sharing his knowledge and love of the music he helped to evolve.

Hawtin has spent over two decades at the forefront of electronic dance music. He exerted an enormous influence on techno in the early '90s, chiefly via his Plastikman alias. Hawtin’s intense, minimalist productions helped pave the way for artists making use of laptops and digital mixing equipment in their DJ productions.

The CNTRL: Beyond EDM tour will cover 17 cities in the U.S. and Canada, visiting college campuses. The tour aims to educate students about electronic dance music (EDM), its production, performance and the technology that powers it. In addition to practical, educational content featuring hands-on sessions from Hawtin, Loco Dice and other leading DJs and producers, the evenings will feature blistering live showcases from the superstar line up.

With over 65 years of experience in sound technology, Sennheiser shares the ideas behind the CNTRL concept and will join the tour as its official sound partner, reinforcing the importance of working with quality sound ideals and products in music technology. At each location, the sound will be powered by Sennheiser equipment, and the company will be contributing educational content. Sennheiser will also have a product booth with support personnel on hand, where it will showcase its line of professional headphones. On show will be the legendary HD 25 and the newly released Amperior, an ultra-stylish design that takes technology from the HD 25 to bring a deep yet balanced club sound to mobile devices.

Speaking about working with Sennheiser, Richie Hawtin’s comments reflect the precision and perfectionism that drive his music. He is also a long time fan of Sennheiser’s legendary DJ headphones, the HD 25 and explains:
