Sennheiser Asia

Key factors for Sennheiser’s success in Asia

Artists such as world-famous beat boxer Dharni, Malaysian singer Rynn Lim, celebrated Sri Lankan pop star Iraj Weerartne, Philippine pop sensation Charice, and Arnel Pineda of the rock band Journey all trust our products. Major film, radio and theatre productions often owe their excellent sound to our technology. Recently discovered talents in all musical genres are supported by Sennheiser. Last but not least, our customers know we can offer ideal solutions for all requirements. Innovative strength, quality and excellence make a lasting impact. In Asia, our product offering expands beyond Sennheiser microphones and headphones to include the Neumann, Rycote, L-Acoustics, Sound Devices and K-Array brands.

Sennheiser Asia supports Singapore’s major theatres. Since 2011 we have been supplying the technology for the Singapore Theatre Festival. We also feature as a sponsor – of the Esplanade Theatres on the Bay in Singapore, for example, as well as the Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival 2011 and 2012, and the @Live Club in Kuala Lumpur.

What’s more, in 2012 the Sennheiser Sound Academy will become part of both the Republic Polytechnic and Lasalle College of Arts e-learning curricula. So, future audio producers will be working with Sennheiser while still studying.

What makes us special

In recognition of its achievements, in 2003 Sennheiser Asia won the coveted Singapore Patron of the Arts Award. In almost two decades, Sennheiser Asia has been involved with numerous important installations, among them the Esplanade Theatres on the Bay events centre, and the Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) in Singapore. The company was also an Official Sponsor of Singapore’s first international circus production, Voyage de la Vie, presented by RWS in 2011.

What we love doing

Our 50 members of staff work to meet the highest standards of perfect sound in keeping with the customer’s individual needs. We love engaging with our customers directly: via our excellent application service team on the phone, or on location at concerts, audio productions and consumer events. Only with this direct and frequent contact can we ensure we continue to learn about our customer’s true demands and live up to our vision of offering outstanding sound performance to meet all individual requirements.

These successes would not be possible without a team that cares passionately about sound. Before joining Sennheiser, many of us had a background in professional audio or were musicians ourselves. Many of us are still pursuing our passion in music as a hobby while playing in a band, recording at home studios or providing audio services for local venues. At our head office in Singapore, we are proud that our talents, passion for perfect sound and ongoing technical improvements have been rewarded with personal and corporate success.

Where we have roots

Today Sennheiser employs more than 2,100 people in over 90 countries. Our global headquarters is located in Wennebostel, Germany, a small village close to the northern German city of Hanover. Our Wennebostel production facilities meet the highest technical standards in the production of microphones, wireless transmission technology, conference and tour guide systems, aviation headsets, high quality headphones and headphone transducers and monitor systems.

Where we are at home

Sennheiser Asia was founded in November 1992. We hope to continue to build on our position of market dominance and open up the new rising markets of the future. We want Sennheiser to be a name that stands for excellence and market leadership. We have found a home at the Alexandra Technopark in Singapore — a location that equips our team with the right inspiration to provide the perfect sound for our customers, every day and every minute, all year round. Singapore lies at the heart of the rapidly growing Asian Pacific region. From here, we cater for the entire South East Asian market and some markets in North and South Asia, with distributing partners in 20 countries, including South Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam and Cambodia.
